Job Description

CSC NL is seeking a part-time digital literacy trainer in Central NL for techKNOWtutors program to deliver
comprehensive training programs focused on enhancing digital literacy skills. You will work with individuals
of various skill levels, assisting them to effectively navigate digital technologies, applications, and online
platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver digital literacy training sessions to individuals or groups, both in-person and
online. - Design and customize training materials to meet the specific needs of participants and align with
program objectives. - Assist in the administration and updating of the project’s database, including data entry, reporting,
monitoring, and tracking participants, events, resources, and trainers. - Responsible for timely documentation, collection of data and ongoing evaluation of the program.
- Facilitate in person and online sessions on digital literacy and Internet skills.
- Assist in answering “warm line calls” providing technical support over the telephone, as well as
meet with learners in our office to provide one-on-one support. - Assist in Train-to-Trainer sessions for community partners.
- Organize equipment, register participants and prepare training materials.
- Maintaining accurate records of trainees’ progress, training outcomes, and feedback.
- Assist in marketing efforts and participate in the overall communication strategy for the project.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, instructional design, business) or equivalent
practical experience. - Strong knowledge of digital technologies, software applications, online platforms, and computer
literacy fundamentals. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts
in a clear and understandable manner. - Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize
effectively. - Familiarity with adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and interactive
training techniques. - Experience in delivering training programs, preferably in the field of digital literacy or technology
education. - Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for training delivery and administrative tasks, such
as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. - Experience working with volunteers and coordinating their involvement in training programs is a
plus. - Passion for digital inclusion and a commitment to empowering individuals through technology.
- Additional language skills are an asset.
Employment Conditions:
This is a part-time contractual position until March 2024, based in Central NL. The The salary range is
$20/hr to $22/hr., based on qualifications. The work week will generally be (20–24hours/ week) during
Monday-Friday (8:30am – 5 pm) but flexible hours may be required depending on training needs. Some
travel and access to a personal vehicle and Class 5 driving license is required.
Success in this position will be determined by the completion of training sessions and increase in learners
during the contract term. Duties of this position may be adjusted to meet program requirements.
All employees on any project are considered to be CSC NL staff and will support the overall objectives of
the organization. This includes supporting digital learning and engagement with other community
organizations, including small businesses, non-profits, and charities. The employee from time to time may
support broader CSC NL organizational activities.
