AMPLIFY – Assisting My Potential – Labour Initiative for Youth
The Community Sector Council NL is delivering AMPLIFY (Assisting My Potential – Labour Initiative for Youth) again in 2023 in partnership with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Department of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills (IPGS).

 

About The Program
AMPLIFY has the objective of providing employment for targeted youth who may have little work experience or who may face challenges in locating employment. It also offers 25 hours of career and personal development learning opportunities. AMPLIFY encourages opportunities for the participants to build networks, connect with peers and reach out to newcomers.

 

Call for Expressions of Interest – Host Organizations
AMPLIFY is currently welcoming Expressions of Interest from nonprofit organizations and private businesses to perform as Host Organizations in Fall/Winter 2023-24.

 

Host organizations will:

  • Assist to identify eligible local youth and receive resumes of potential participants from CSC NL
  • Facilitate jobs with external employers or create employment opportunities themselves
  • Provide or arrange career and personal development learning events
  • Bring youth together where possible for networking opportunities and team-building activities
  • Assist CSC NL with monitoring and feedback of the program.

The selection of Host Organizations will be determined by a number of criteria such as:

  • allocation by community and regional distribution
  • where the referred young people reside
  • consideration of the number of targeted youth and the potential benefit for them
  • the ability to arrange meaningful work experiences and development opportunities carried out in accordance with published public health guidelines (https://gov.nl.ca/covid-19)
  • the type of job to be offered to the youth
  • the opportunity for team work
  • the number of participants to be employed; and
  • the plan for career development and personal growth opportunities.
