The Newfoundland Writers Guild was established to help writers develop their writing skills in a workshop setting. It is open to writers at all levels. The Guild holds monthly workshops and two annual writing retreats.
Newfound Sound is a chapter of the international organization, Harmony Incorporated. Our non-profit organization performs a cappella harmony in Newfoundland and Labrador and throughout Atlantic Canada. It is the only such chorus in the province.

The St. John's branch sponsors many activities related to Scottish country dancing. Classes are available for beginning and experienced dancers. Socials, with music provided by the branch band Corryvreckan, are held several times during the year to provide more formal occasions to enjoy Scottish country dancing.
