Achieving Success through Community ENgagement and Development (ASCEND) is an innovative program designed to support NEET youth (aged 15-30, not in employment, education, or training) by placing them with community sector organizations for fully subsidized (minimum wage and MERCs) 19-21 week work placements. Before these placements begin, participants will undergo two weeks (70 hours) of career and personal development training to ensure they’re well- prepared to contribute meaningfully to their work placements.

This project is funded by the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, led by Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador (CSCNL), in partnership with Community Sector Network of PEI (CSNPEI) and Impact Organizations of Nova Scotia (IONS). The ASCEND program is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people while strengthening the community sector across Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.
