ArtsNL is a non-profit Crown agency created in 1980 by The Arts Council Act. Its mission is to foster and promote the creation and enjoyment of the arts for the benefit of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. The Council is governed by a volunteer board of 13 appointed by government, reflecting regional representation of the province. This includes 10 professional artists who provide sectoral representation of the arts community; one community representative (with an interest in the arts); one business representative (with an interest in the arts); and one representative of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation (non-voting). ArtsNL receives an annual grant from the Province to support a variety of granting programs, program delivery, office administration, and communications. It also seeks support from the public and private sector. It supports the following artistic disciplines: dance, film, multidiscipline, music, theatre, visual art, and writing.

The Brigus Blueberry Festival is an Award Winning 4 day event held in mid August. Activities include: A Royal Shag Up" - comedy dinner theatre, Steps Through Time - walking tour, Newfie night with Screech Ins, community breakfasts, dinners, and suppers, a two day Folk Festival with well known Newfoundland talent, visits by Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador and Miss Newfoundland and Labrador, the Missed Blueberry Pageant, raffles, craft stalls, baked goods, a pie eating contest, games of chance, mooseburgers, cash bar, children's games, dances, and fireworks at the Brigus Waterfront.

The Celtic Fiddlers are a group of approximately 24 young people ranging in age from 13 to 22 years whose main goal is to keep Newfoundland and Irish Music alive in the youth of our province. The Celtic Fiddlers are a performing group that consists of drums, a keyboard, guitar, bass, Irish tin whistle, and many violins. The group practices every week and enjoys learning new pieces of music, especially the songs and jigs and reels of their Irish ancestors.

The Cupers Cove Soiree is located in the beautiful historic town of Cupids. The festival takes place annually on the third weekend of August. The Bay Roberts Heritage Society was formed in 1989 to preserve the heritage of the town. The Society is responsible for the award-winning Shoreline Heritage Walk and the restoration of the Western Union Cable Building which houses the Christopher Pratt Gallery and Road to Yesterday Museum.
