FOSHR is a non-profit community-based watershed management group that is committed to the awareness, protection and enhancement of the Shoal Harbour River watershed. We became incorporated in May 2008. Our group consists of professionals, trades workers, teachers, business owners, etc.

Indian Bay Ecosystem Corporation is a non-profit community organization with the goal of protecting Indian Bay watershed through research, community engagement and sound stewardship.The Indian Bay area was known in fishing circles for its large native Brook Trout. In the 1970?s and 80?s easier access, increased fishing pressure, poor conservation ethic and lack of management led to declines in brook trout populations and the deterioration of the watershed. Growing concern for the watershed led a group of concerned citizens to take action. Since its formation in 1988 by the Gambo-Indian Bay Development Association, the Indian Bay Ecosystem Corporation, has made many inroads in restoring the watershed back to its former pristine condition.
The Institute conducts and provides incisive, comprehensive, multidisciplinary and unbiased scientific research in Labrador and northeastern Qubec ecosystems affected by the low-level flying program. It conducts research on the socio-economic effects of the military activities. The Institute offers scientifically supported recommendations to the Ministers of Environment and National Defence on the policy issues relating to the impacts of low-level flying.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Lumber Producers Association (NLLPA) is a non-profit organization representing N-L commercial sawmill operators and timber harvesters. Its members account for more than 70 per cent of lumber production in the province and directly employ more than 1500 people. Incorporated in 1983, the NLLPAs initial purpose was to seek accreditation in order to operate a grading agency. Today the Association also actively promotes and facilitates the economic development and viability of the industry.
