The Terry Fox Foundations single mission is to fund innovative cancer research. To date, over $600 million has been raised worldwide for cancer research in Terrys name through the annual Terry Fox Run, an all-inclusive, non-competitive run with no minimum entry fee. and Terry Fox School Run.

Mandate: To raise funds for charitable causes involving the health, education and safety of the community at large. VOCM Cares Foundation helps to support charities in Newfoundland and Labrador through project funding and community services; and, from time to time, at the request and recommendation of recognized appropriate agencies, provides direct assistance to those in special circumstances. VOCM Cares Foundation is the focal point of the community involvement for all stations of Stingray in Newfoundland and Labrador.
To relieve poverty in Newfoundland and Labrador by assisting persons, of low income, in need, by providing support, including financial support, through payment of "medical expenses" (including travel costs, hospitalization costs, medical practitioner costs and prohibitively expensive prescription medicines and drugs) that are not funded or reimbursed from any other sources, including private health care service plans and federal and provincial government departments to relieve poverty in Newfoundland and Labrador by providing support, including financial support, to cover food and other basic supplies to persons, of low income, in need; to provide scholarships, bursaries and prizes to impoverished individuals and individuals with severe financial burdens, in Newfoundland and Labrador, to assist them in pursuing educational studies;
