The recreation committee provides community programs and services for the town of Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland.
The Smith's Harbour Recreation Committee is a non-profit organization; Throughout the years the Committee has seen to the construction and up keep of the Community Centre.The Recreation Committee also shares responsibility with the Local Service District for the upkeep and beautification of the Limestone Park.
This committee is responsible for sports and other activities in the town and often holds events for different ages. The Committee is also responsible for taking care of the recreation center, playground and softball field.
The committee is responsible for the maintenance of the soccer and softball fields as well as the Rec-Plex. The committee also runs a summer program of activities and usually takes the lead role in organizing such events as the Christmas Parade, Winter Carnival and the Summer Carnival. The Recreation Committee is also responsible for fundraising to support these recreational facilities.

The Reid Community Centre includes a Double Gymnasium, Health & Fitness Centre, Youth Centre, Kitchen Facilities, and Change Rooms with Shower facilities. A wide variety of activities are offered at the centre, including recreational activities for children/youth, adults & seniors, fitness programs, indoor walking, community fundraisers, dinners, dances, banquets, birthday parties & craft fairs.

Located in the Boathouse on Quidi Vidi Lake, the St. Johns Rowing Club is the only slide seat rowing club in Newfoundland. We offer many learn-to-row programs, geared towards all ages and experiences.

The Portugal Cove Rowing Club was started up in the summer of 2005 by Sandy Greeley and his three sons. Cyril, Kevin and Robert. It has been a dream of the Greeley's for a long time to start up a rowing club so as they can train there crews and help do there part in keeping the sport going strong.
Rowing Newfoundland is the PSO for slide seat rowing. There are two slide seat rowing clubs in Newfoundland and Labrador St. Johns Rowing Club and Labrador West Rowing Association. The Rowing Newfoundland Provincial Team rows out of the St. Johns Rowing Club facility, located on Quidi Vidi Lake in St. Johns, NL. Find out more about Team NL here. Athletes also attend strength and conditioning training at the Dr. Noel Browne High Performance Training Centre. Rowing Newfoundland is a member of Rowing Canada, and SportNL.

A competitive and social rugby club who play home games in Kelligrews.
Swilers R.F.C. currently fields two senior mens teams as well as Under 18 and Under 16 sides. The highly competitive womens sides include a senior squad and an Under 19 side. Plans for a mini/minor rugby program this summer are underway.
The Vandals Rugby Football club is located in St. John's, Newfoundland. It was originally created as a club which offered competitive rugby for young players and has grown to include players of all ages, genders, and levels of ability.
