The Gambo Sports and Recreation Committee is committee to providing quality recreation programming within our community. We host seven weekly programs, as well as a six-week summer program. We take pride in the infrastructure our committee has been successful in delivering over the past number of years including a playground, outdoor rink, volleyball court, and track and field/softball facility.

Set on the rolling hills of the Gander Lake, this course, newly designed by Doug Carrick, opened for the 2001 golf season.Located directly off the Trans Canada Highway in Gander, this course provides you with large sculpted greens surrounded by large, deep, strategically placed sand traps. A modern clubhouse with a full restaurant and bar overlooking the lake provides a relaxing setting once you complete a round at Gander Golf Club.

The Carmanville Recreation Committee is a volunteer organization that ensures the towns recreational facilities are well maintained and looked after. Apart from looking after these facilities the Recreation Committee runs several programs and events throughout the year. The committee runs a weekly bingo at the town hall as a fundraiser, they run the annual "Aunt Martha's Sheep Festival", and finally the committee runs a summer program for local children allowing kids to take part in numerous recreational activities. The program also provides summer employment for 4-6 students.
