Avion Players is a community theatre company co-founded by Barbara Barrett and Ken and Marion Pagniez in 1953 in Gander, Newfoundland. The Avion Players usually perform two productions per year as well as organize an annual craft fair. Since its' earliest beginnings Avion Players has participated in the provincial drama festival formerly known as the Dominion Drama Festival. The Players have traveled to numerous locations in Canada as well as internationally to participate in theatre festivals. Past activities include cabarets, talent competitions, haunted houses, seasonal recitations, and dinner shows.

The Baccalieu Amateur Radio Klub was formed back in January 1993, and since then, it's goal of promoting and utilizing amateur radio in the Conception Bay Area, has remained the mainstay of the group. A festival which celebrates the rich history of the community and the past Badger Drive. The Badger Drive was a log drive which took place on the Exploits River between Badger and Grand Falls between 1908 and 1991. All of the pulpwood from Millertown to Badger had to pass through this area. To facilitate this, hundreds of men were employed to keep the logs flowing down the river.
