The Advocate Youth Services Cooperative was formed by young people in Baie Verte in 2007. The Cooperative aims to; engage local youth in the community development process, undertake community infrastructure projects, develop opportunities for youth employment, engage in training & career development activities while supporting member participation in youth camps, conferences & other provincial events.
CHANNAL (Consumers' Health Awareness Network Newfoundland And Labrador) is a registered charity and the only non-profit provincial organization created by and for individuals living with mental health and addictions issues. As part of the Nova Central School District, Copper Ridge Academy is located in Baie Verte and serves the communities of Baie Verte, Coachmans Cove, Mings Bight, Fleur de Lys, Wild Cove, Seal Cove, Pacquet, and Woodstock. The school population is approximately 400 students from kindergarten to grade 12.
The focus of the CBEA is to clean up the Corduroy Brook and build a suitable trail which is also wheelchair accessible. The group is dedicated to promoting the environment and wetlands through the schools, educating the students on littering and conducting tours of the trail with these children. The group has received an environmental award for this work as well as the stream enhancement features they have added to the river
