Faith's Haven Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization that is working hard to decrease the amount of animal euthanasia that is happening in Labrador West each year. Since we began in May 2010, Faith's Haven Animal Shelter has helped to give over 160 animals a second chance. Through hard work and dedication the members of our board are working tirelessly to find affordable land so that we may have our own building.

We have been serving the communities of North West River and Sheshatshiu since 1984. The library is situated in the College of the North Atlantic building and we have books and magazines for all ages. There is a special space for pre-school children and parents too.
While visiting Labrador City why not drop into Gateway Labrador. We have a visitor centre in the lobby, It would be our pleasure to help you with a map of our area and things to do here. As well we have a craft / gift shop with unique gifts. Our exhibit is very interesting to visit and is a great way to explore a little about Labrador.

The Great Labrador Canoe Race was established in 2010 to showcase a rich history of travel by canoe in Labrador. While canoe travel was mainly associated with a vibrant trapping heritage and a subsistence lifestyle, today's canoe interest is one of adventure and freedom to access the interior wilderness of Labrador. A place where you can still have 300,000 km2 to yourself! But this sense of freedom doesn't come easy, you'll have to fight for it. So surrender to the stillness and join us for more adventure and fun in our annual event.
