Located in the Boathouse on Quidi Vidi Lake, the St. Johns Rowing Club is the only slide seat rowing club in Newfoundland. We offer many learn-to-row programs, geared towards all ages and experiences.

The Portugal Cove Rowing Club was started up in the summer of 2005 by Sandy Greeley and his three sons. Cyril, Kevin and Robert. It has been a dream of the Greeley's for a long time to start up a rowing club so as they can train there crews and help do there part in keeping the sport going strong.
Rowing Newfoundland is the PSO for slide seat rowing. There are two slide seat rowing clubs in Newfoundland and Labrador St. Johns Rowing Club and Labrador West Rowing Association. The Rowing Newfoundland Provincial Team rows out of the St. Johns Rowing Club facility, located on Quidi Vidi Lake in St. Johns, NL. Find out more about Team NL here. Athletes also attend strength and conditioning training at the Dr. Noel Browne High Performance Training Centre. Rowing Newfoundland is a member of Rowing Canada, and SportNL.

The Lifesaving Society - Canada's lifeguarding expert - is a full-service provider of programs, products and services designed to prevent drowning. We prevent drowning and water-related injury through our training programs, Water Smart public education, aquatic safety management services, drowning research and lifesaving sport.

The Royal Newfoundland Regiment Regimental Advisory Council supports and promotes customs and traditions of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and operates a museum dedicated to the Regiment with displays and interpretive archives.

The St. John's branch sponsors many activities related to Scottish country dancing. Classes are available for beginning and experienced dancers. Socials, with music provided by the branch band Corryvreckan, are held several times during the year to provide more formal occasions to enjoy Scottish country dancing.
The Family Life Bureau, in co-operation with parishes, and/or in collaboration with community agencies, reaches out to families and individuals, through a wide variety programs and counseling services. We respond to people in need with compassion and concern.
A competitive and social rugby club who play home games in Kelligrews.
Swilers R.F.C. currently fields two senior mens teams as well as Under 18 and Under 16 sides. The highly competitive womens sides include a senior squad and an Under 19 side. Plans for a mini/minor rugby program this summer are underway.
