Eastport Peninsula is a community where physical activity and healthy active living are a way of life. Residents of all ages are motivated and inspired to participate in a wide variety of accessible and enjoyable programs and opportunities that promote an enhanced quality of life for all residents.The Eastport Peninsula Recreation & Wellness Committee was organized in 2009, serves all communities on the Eastport Peninsula and is fortunate to have a full time Regional Recreation Director.

The Carmanville Recreation Committee is a volunteer organization that ensures the towns recreational facilities are well maintained and looked after. Apart from looking after these facilities the Recreation Committee runs several programs and events throughout the year. The committee runs a weekly bingo at the town hall as a fundraiser, they run the annual "Aunt Martha's Sheep Festival", and finally the committee runs a summer program for local children allowing kids to take part in numerous recreational activities. The program also provides summer employment for 4-6 students.
