The Schizophrenia Society of Newfoundland and Labrador (SSNL) is dedicated to providing support, public awareness, education and advocacy to those affected by schizophrenia and psychosis. Founded in 1997, SSNL has grown to become a province wide volunteer based, supportive organization with members and supporters throughout the province.

Acreman Elementary is a Grade K -6 school located in Green's Harbour, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. It currently has a population of 124 students. Opened in 1970, it is now in the jurisdiction of the Eastern School District of Newfoundland and Labrador. The school serves the communities of Cavendish, Green's Harbour, Hopeall and Whiteway, which together have a population of approximately two thousand people.
