Anglican Church Parish – Cupids ( Parish of the Resurrection) South River

Objective:

The origins of this Parish go back to the early 17th century with the arrival of the first priest of the Church of England in c. 1613, as part of the colonization of John guy's colony of Cuper's Cove . After a number of years, the missionaries moved from Cupids i.e., Burnt Head, to other parts of the Avalon.The Parish existed for years as a 4-point Parish involving Brigus, South River, Cupids and Makinsons and has undergone several name changes in its history. In the winter of 2006, the new parish of the Resurrection moved into its New House for the Church, located at the crossroads of Makinsons, South River and Cupids/Brigus.
