Avion Players – Gander Gander

Objective:

Avion Players is a community theatre company co-founded by Barbara Barrett and Ken and Marion Pagniez in 1953 in Gander, Newfoundland. The Avion Players usually perform two productions per year as well as organize an annual craft fair. Since its' earliest beginnings Avion Players has participated in the provincial drama festival formerly known as the Dominion Drama Festival. The Players have traveled to numerous locations in Canada as well as internationally to participate in theatre festivals. Past activities include cabarets, talent competitions, haunted houses, seasonal recitations, and dinner shows.

Baccalieu Amateur Radio Klub Inc. Carbonear

Objective:

The Baccalieu Amateur Radio Klub was formed back in January 1993, and since then, it's goal of promoting and utilizing amateur radio in the Conception Bay Area, has remained the mainstay of the group. We keep active in the community as much as we can and always welcome invites from schools, youth groups and others to come and explain what we are all about. In 2002, we incorporated the club as a not-for-profit community group, and changed the official name to "Baccalieu Amateur Radio Klub Inc."

Badger Drive Festival Badger

Objective:

A festival which celebrates the rich history of the community and the past Badger Drive. The Badger Drive was a log drive which took place on the Exploits River between Badger and Grand Falls between 1908 and 1991. All of the pulpwood from Millertown to Badger had to pass through this area. To facilitate this, hundreds of men were employed to keep the logs flowing down the river.

Baie Verte Miner’s Musuem and Dorset Craftshop Baie Verte

Objective:

The Baie Verte Peninsula Miners' Museum brings to life a typical mine from the late1800s to present day. It features six major mines and Dorset Eskimo artifacts, illustrating the life of a miner from the late nineteenth century to present day.
