The Church Lads Brigade (CLB) was founded in 1891 in London, England. Today, the CLB in Newfoundland has over 1000 members in 22 companies spread across the Avalon Peninsula, from St. Johns to Whitbourne, and one company on the Bonavista Peninsula in Trinity East/Port Rexton. Through educational, recreational and social activities, the Brigade aims to help youth develop the necessary skills to become future leaders.

The Church Lads Brigade (CLB) was founded in 1891 in London, England. Through the efforts of a young Newfoundlander, Harold Blackler, a CLB Company was started in St. Johns in 1892 the first CLB overseas unit. Today, the CLB in Newfoundland has over 1000 members in 22 companies spread across the Avalon Peninsula, from St. Johns to Whitbourne, and one company on the Bonavista Peninsula in Trinity East/Port Rexton
