Admiralty House originally operated as a Marconi Wireless Station, constructed in 1915. During WWI, the station intercepted German naval transmissions, tracked icebergs, and ships in distress. Today, it operates as an award-winning museum with unique tours and programs. Throughout the year, visitors can learn the history of early communications, the Royal Navy, and the tragedy of the S.S. Florizel. Visitors can also explore the garden nestled among gorgeous foliage with a fairy tale archway
The Alexander Murray hiking trail on the Baie Verte Peninsula leads to a loop around a 1200 foot summit overlooking the Southwest Arm fjord. Approximately 6 to 8 kms in length, the trail can be completed in 3 to 4 hours depending on the amount of time spent sightseeing. For a more pleasurable experience allow 4 to 6 hours. Waterfalls, mountains, barrens, open ocean, and the Gaff Topsails can all be seen on or from this trail. The trail is marked and has lots of challenging sections, some intermediate and some easy.
The Amina Anthropological Resources Association Incorporated is a non-profit organization that raises funds to research, preserve, protect and promote cultural, natural heritage and artistic resources in northern locations, and to inform the public about those resources through educational and public-relations programs. These research programs, under social science and pure science auspices, will also serve to benefit local economies. Our efforts largely focus on aboriginal culture and history.

The Bowring Park Foundation (BPF) is a charitable foundation established in 1995 to assist the City of St. John's in the restoration, preservation and future development of Bowring Park. The goal of the Foundation is to ensure the development of a "public garden for quiet family enjoyment" as envisioned by its Honorary Patron, Derrick Bowring.
The Heart's Content station became a focal centre of Western Union Inc.'s international cable system until it closed in 1965 after trans-ocean telephone cable and satellite communication was reduced it to obsolescence. The site consists of the telegraph building constructed in 1875-76 and a larger extension added by Western Union in 1918-19. Today, much of the equipment and instrumentation used at this site is on display along with interpretive displays which explain the station's role through almost a hundred years of cable history. The cable station is now a Newfoundland Provincial Historic Site.
