our de Shore Inc., a non-profit group, is organizing the race, mapping the course, training marshals and marketing the event to promote the Irish Loop zone. The objective is to develop a world-class bicycling event that will attract local and international cyclists to participate in professional and amateur races and bring enthusiasts to the province. The event will provide opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sectors for inns, restaurants, craft shops, tour operators and tourism sites, such as the Colony of Avalon, which are expected to benefit from the race.

Over the years, Elliston has become known for its root cellars, and more recently puffin colony, but there is more. One of the communitys main assets is Sandy Cove. Here we have a beautiful sandy beach and located just across the road is Ellistons Municipal Park with camping facilities. This is within walking distance of the puffin site. In the spring, we are treated to icebergs off our shores and during the summer a variety of whales can be see around our coastline. All this combined with magnificent scenery makes Elliston and the neighboring community of Maberly quite a popular destination.

Pearlgate Track and Field Club is a Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association and Athletics Canada Affiliated Track Club in Mount Pearl Newfoundland. They train year-round out of the Pearlgate Track and Field Complex, an Olympic caliber polyurethane facility. The facility also boasts a multipurpose room upstairs which is available to be rented for private functions.

The Garnish-Point Rosie Trail Association was originally formed in 1993 by 130 ATV owners who banded together to construct an ATV Trail from Garnish to the resettled community of Point Rosie. The trail is used by ATV users, snow mobilers, cross country skiers and hikers. The association maintains the trail through volunteer member labour and fundraising efforts
