Job Description

About CSCNL: At Community Sector Council NL (CSCNL), we are dedicated in fostering socio-economic well-being through the community sector in Newfoundland and Labrador. We do this through reflective iteration and co-creation of initiatives, building shared capacity while uplifting voices, and remaining impact-driven in our approaches. We support changemakers.

Position Overview: CSCNL is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking professional to serve as Manager, Revenue & Strategic Development. This inaugural role will be instrumental in advancing CSCNL’s revenue diversification strategy while strengthening the long-term sustainability of the community sector. The successful candidate will lead fund development initiatives, cultivate partnerships, and create practical resources that help organizations across the province grow their impact.

Because this is a new position, we welcome candidates with a range of experiences and are committed to supporting professional development. Above all, we are looking for someone who shares our passion for community, aligns with our values, and brings the energy and initiative to turn strategy into action.

What you can expect in the role:

1. Fund Development & Revenue Diversification

· Lead the design and delivery of a comprehensive fund development strategy aligned with organizational goals.

· Proactively identify and pursue funding opportunities from government programs, foundations, corporations, and individual donors.

· Develop innovative approaches to diversify revenue, including fee-for-service, partnerships, and social finance models.

· Manage the full fundraising cycle — from prospect research to proposal writing, donor stewardship, and reporting.

2. Capacity Building & Sector Impact

· Build tools, resources, and training to strengthen the fundraising capacity of community-based organizations across the province.

· Design and implement shared-service models or collaborative initiatives that help organizations pool resources and amplify impact.

· Support the development of new funding vehicles (e.g., impact funds) to increase long-term sustainability for the sector.

3. Partnerships & Engagement

· Cultivate and steward relationships with private sector partners, foundations, and impact investors to secure both financial and strategic support.

· Work closely with the CEO to advance external communications, manage donor-related content across newsletters, social media, and media inquiries.

· Act as a subject matter expert in fund development and sector sustainability, providing guidance to colleagues and community partners

What you bring to the table:

We know talent comes from many places, and the following are suggested qualifications rather than strict requirements. If you see yourself in this role, we encourage you to apply.

· Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Non-profit Management, Communications) or equivalent experience.

· Experience in fund development, non-profit fundraising, or a related area, with evidence of results.

· A fundraising credential (such as CFRE) is an asset, but not required.

· Comfort using fundraising tools, CRM systems, and digital platforms for content creation and communications.

· Strong relationship-building and communication skills with donors, partners, and colleagues.

· Collaborative spirit with the ability to work effectively in teams and across sectors.

· Flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving skills to thrive in a dynamic non-profit environment.

What we bring to the table:

This is a one-year position with the opportunity for renewal. Continuation will be determined by organizational sustainability and alignment with strategic goals. Willingness to travel and use of a personal vehicle may be required, but accommodations can be provided. We are open to candidates who can work from one of our offices or who choose to work remotely from anywhere in Newfoundland and Labrador.

CSCNL provides a competitive total compensation package:

· This is a full-time position with an annual salary starting at $70,000.

· Enrollment in our Health and Dental program

· Employer-Employee shared contributions to our pension plan

· Three weeks annual leave in addition to 10 days wellness leave, plus recognized statutory holidays.

· Cultural leave of up to 3-days for observation of religious holidays plus other leave provisions.

· Flexible work arrangements based on a 35-hour work week.

What you can expect from the interview process:

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the right candidate is found. Interviews will begin in October/November. As this is a competitive process, no phone calls please, instead email your application to info@cscnl.ca

Recognizing interviewing is a time-intensive process, we will be providing interview questions in advance for those chosen and compensating interviewees with $50 for their time. All interviewees will receive a response and can request feedback.

At CSCNL, we are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and barrier-free workplace that allows all of our people to reach their full potential. We welcome all interested candidates to apply and encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all of the above requirements. Candidates who have an equivalent level of transferrable skills and experience would be considered and encouraged to apply.

CSC NL is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We foster a workplace that values all individuals irrespective of their background and encourage candidates from underrepresented groups to apply. Self-identification is optional, and accommodations can be requested during recruitment and assessment processes.
